Who could have guessed I'd be this busy?

In our previous episode, I was heading North to visit our son and his fiance in Washington D.C.  They were visiting the venue of the wedding to get specifics and reserve a date.  I was so honored to be included.  It was lovely and I got to know her Mom a bit better and meet her Dad.  We hung out, ate great food, shopped for the color palette for the wedding and she tried on her dress.   Apparently, designers will ship a sample so you can try on your size and I was so emotion filled seeing her in it.  Gorgeous.  We also picked out our Mother of the Groom and Mother of the Bride dresses.  Also gorgeous!

Our son took the day off Monday to spend it with me.  How lucky am I?  We also met his fiance's Mom for lunch then he dropped me off at the airport.  Everything went well until a few minutes after we boarded the plane.  The pilot announced there was no A/C and it would take about 1/2 hour to fix.  Well, 45 minutes later, he announced that we were getting another plane that did have A/C but it wouldn't arrive for another hour and 1/4.  So we truck off the plane, go to another gate and wait.... and wait.... and wait.  Finally, we board and get off the ground 3 hours after scheduled.  It really wasn't that bad, really.  I met some nice folks and we chatted about the Rays and their skills (or lack of).  I met a woman (sitting next to me on the flight) who was from Philadelphia and her husband was from Churchville (the next town over from where we lived prior to FL).  How about that?

Tuesday, to the dentist.  One of my fillings was cracked and couldn't be fixed so ... it's a cap for me.  Yuck.

Wednesday, I met our daughter for tea and shopping at the local mall and had a wonderful visit.

Thursday is always my day with her and the grandchildren.  I do enjoy those days.

Friday, pick up the boat from the shop and work around the house.

Tomorrow, it's our grandson's birthday!  He will be 2 years old, the time sure does fly.  We are spending it with him and his family at the Lowry Park Zoo.  I really like that zoo, it's well laid out and has lots of interactive things to keep you busy and interested.

In light of that zoo visit, I got into making animals.  Here are my efforts:

That's all folks.  (I always feel like the end of those cartoons when I say that!)  Be well.

Now back to our regularly scheduled post ....

I've been making jewelry like mad this week, one set of earrings for a commission and everything else because I liked the way they looked.  So without further ado:

These were made so a friend could choose which one she wanted for another friend.  Her instruction was blue and curly.  Which one do you think she chose?

I've been trying all different methods of making baskets but none seemed to look right, but finally, I did it!  It even has a hinged lid!  For the next one I'll be weaving more wire up and down the sides but I'm so pleased that this one actually looks like a basket.

I'm so attracted to sea life and saw this Ammonite pendant on Pinterest but of course have lost the link.  Mine turned out similar to the inspiration.  I also made my first sliding knot closure ever: it works!

I am always trying new things with the Danish Knots.  I think they are so elegant and love putting them in new combinations.  What do you think of this one?

Well folks, I'm off to Washington D.C. for the weekend.  I am spending it with our son and his fiance to finalize their wedding venue.  Maybe Grandmom will come visit from PA on Sunday.  It's going to be great!

Hope your weekend is as great as mine.  Be well.

The promised 2nd post, a bit late ...

Hi folks, between online issues, a major head cold and company in town for a long weekend, the promised 2nd post for last week did not happen last week.

What did happen was 2 days of not much, trying to help the cold not get worse, watching the Bean and the Duke overnight while their parents went out for a much deserved night out and next morning sleeping in, dinners with our Father in law, his wife and her children while they were visiting and Saturday, and TDH took the aforementioned guests out for a fishing trip on the Boca Ciega Bay.  They didn't catch much but everyone said they had a grand time.

Mother's Day was nice and relaxing.  Went to a lovely brunch with Father in law and family at a beach resort before their company left that evening.  It was great food and wonderful conversation.  Talked to both of our children and made plans to visit our son and his fiance this weekend after TDH told me to check flights.  He is the best person I know.  Our son and his fiance are finalizing their wedding venue and I'm so excited about it.  Besides, I haven't seen them since early March so ....

I did make a few pieces this week.  One of which was inspired by a post on Pinterest with tutorials (right).

I really liked the idea of a big focal wire with exotic beads accenting it.

Mine is on the left. I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

I was also very happy with the responses to my Hands earrings and necklace set, so I started experimenting with other symbols using hands.  The following is what I came up with so far..... any other suggestions?

Well, folks, that's all for now.  Hope your weather is getting nicer and you are enjoying it.  Be well.

You are in luck!

I know I'm late for last week, but guess what?  You will get 2 posts from me this week, aren't you lucky?

This past week TDH and I were busy planning for our weekend trip to celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary.  We went to Gulfport, MS and saw Joan Jett and the Blackhearts in concert.  Can that girl still rock or what?  It was a really intimate setting and she brought the house down.  I got a sore throat from singing (screaming) all the songs.  We came home Saturday (our actual anniversary) and went out to dinner.  By chance, we found a local restaurant, Cassis with the best waiter ever, EZ.  We sat outside and watched the parade of people, animals and cars go by.  It was wonderful.  We'll definitely go back there again.

I'm having trouble with uploading pictures again.  I'll post them when they upload.

I did get one in before the program decided to quit.  I had collected these shells on St Pete Beach one morning when TDH invited me to have breakfast on the beach.  It was a chilly morning (well, chilly for St Pete Beach) but sunny and gorgeous.  I think this necklace would look great on a dark pink shirt or with a bathing suit on the beach.

**Update Wednesday afternoon**  Finally got the rest of the pictures uploaded.

I made this necklace and earring set last week, I think they are just funky enough to be cute.  Maybe on a high neck dark shirt worn going out to dinner?
This next choker is 3 Danish knots but I think they look elegant.  I made the figure 8 chain connectors too.

I keep trying all different ways to have a chakra necklace.  This one with the repeating 7s spoke to me.  You can rotate the beads on the wire if you need fiddly things.
This next one came after a friend explained her ritual knife.  I was in a shop and found this Lemurian Seed Crystal that had a serrated edge.  It felt just perfect for an Athame, so home it came.  After cleaning it, picking it up, putting it down, leaving it alone and then picking it up again for about a week, I started on the hilt. It's coiled wire with a loop at the end. A few days later, I made the scabbard.  It is woven wire of a lesser gauge. I'm really pleased with the result.  How do you like it?
I'm so glad I could finally share all the creations from last week.  Talk to you soon.
